Title: Oral antibiotics for serious infections: no longer a tough pill to swallow

Biosketch of Dr. Nicolas Cortes-Penfield Nicolás:
“Nico” Cortés-Penfield is an assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he serves as co-director of the orthopedic infectious diseases service line as well as medical director of the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (or OPAT) program. He completed his medical degree, internal medicine residency, and adult infectious disease fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Nico’s clinical and research interests are focused on the management of complex orthopedic device-related infections, endovascular infections, and the use of social media in infectious diseases medical education.
