1. I am not the greatest player in the world and am not pretending to be. I created this because I spent hours trying to find these two kits compared and couldn't find one (or two videos) of the same player, in the same space, with the same mics playing both kits. Closest thing to it are some of the videos from Drum Center Portsmouth (which they make great content).

4. This isn't really an apples to apples comparison but I did...
Use the same head combo on both kits (Remo Coated Emperor batter, Clear Ambassadors on reso, Coated Ambassador on snare batter and ambassador hazy on snare reso).
Both kicks had close to the same muffling. The Ludwig is thinner so it isn't as muffled.
Same mics and same mic placements
Same mediocre player

5. I personally don't agree with the idea of not EQ'ing a mic for the sake of "getting an accurate picture of a drum". The mic itself already has its own color... So does the room and all the other equipment the sound travels through before the end person hears it. So yes, this is EQ'd but not heavily. And I am not good at mixing anyways so I really don't think I could do much processing to it.
