More Bad News for Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad Season 2 delayed

More bad news has just dropped for Rocksteady’s troubled live service shooter, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Fans who were looking forward to playing the new Suicide Squad Season 2 DLC in less than 2 days are in for a disappointment. The release date for the highly anticipated content has been pushed back to July 25th.

The Jason Schreier article revealed the struggles Rocksteady has faced with the game, including a skeleton crew managing Suicide Squad. This explains why the content has been behind schedule, with major updates coming every 8 weeks instead of the planned 6. Last week’s surprise announcement that Season 2 would launch on July 11th had fans excited, but now, it’s been delayed again.

The scaled-down announcement highlighted new additions like the Arkham Knight Harley Quinn outfit (censored, of course) and the new playable character, Mrs. Freeze. However, the lack of a weekly blog and gameplay trailer indicated a low-key release. Now, with the new date, the Suicide Squad game Season 2 will compete with Comic-Con and the closed beta for Marvel Rivals, which is also available on PlayStation and Xbox.

This delay puts Rocksteady in a tough spot, as fans are less enthusiastic about fighting Brainiac fused with the Flash again while playing as a gender-swapped Mr. Freeze. I feel bad for Rocksteady, as they’ve taken a lot of undeserved heat for how the game turned out. Their next project sounds promising, but the current state of Suicide Squad is a challenge.
