Shaking Beef 🥩
Serves 2
Ingredients
1 lbs New York strip (use your favorite cut)
1 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
Honey slurry
1.5 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon sugar
.5 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon honey
3 tablespoons of grape seed oil
1 bunch green onions. Cut the bulbs into bite size piece and use the greens for garnish
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon butter
Optional garnish: fried garlic
This recipe is best paired with a simple salad of lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers tossed in a fried garlic vinaigrette.
Recipe for fried garlic vinaigrette
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 table spoon fried garlic
1 tablespoon fried garlic oil
1. Marinade the beef with steak seasoning, garlic powder, soy sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce at room temp for 30-45minutes
2. Combine the water, sugar, cornstarch, and honey to make honey slurry
3. While you’re waiting for the beef to marinade. Use this time to prepare the salad
4. Heat a cast iron skillet on high heat. Add enough grape seed oil to coat the pan.
5. When the oil is smoking add the scallion and sauté for 30 seconds
6. Next add the beef and let it sear for a minute.
7. Give it a shake then add the minced garlic and continue to cook for another minute.
8. After that lower the heat, add the honey slurry, butter and continue to cook until your desired doneness
9. Plate up and garnish with green onions and fried garlic
