In this periodic series, Broad & High delves into the seldom-seen archives of the Ohio History Center. Columbus native George Bellows is probably best known for his early 20th century illustrations of sporting events, namely boxing. History Curator Becky Odom shows us two Bellows lithographs that evoke very different sentiments. Sunday Going to Church depicts the Bellows family taking a carriage ride to church, while The Charge portrays a violent image of World War I trench warfare.
