Home to the holiest Sikh shrine (the Golden Temple), Amritsar is the perfect place to immerse yourself in a little spiritual solace or to reflect on life. Here's what it's like in 60s...
0:03 - The Golden Temple
The holiest temple of the Sikhs, a visit to this temple is a must when you're in Amritsar. The main 2 storey building is covered in gold, sitting in the middle of a pool of water. The water fed from the Ravi river is believed to be “immortal nectar” or “holy water” which you’ll notice locals taking baths in to wash their sins.
0:15 - Jallianwala Bagh
Reflect about how fragile life can be at the Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial built to commemorate the innocent lives by the British during a peaceful demonstration.
0:22 - Wagah Border Ceremony
Experience swelling local pride at the Wagah (Attari) Border Ceremony between neighbouring Pakistan and India. From exaggerated marching to cheering and dancing, it's quite an experience!
0:34 - Eat at Brothers' Dhaba
One of the best places to eat in Amritsar with their clean and wide selection of northern indian food.
0:39 - Punjab Village Tour
Take a step back in time at life in a farming village. Milk a buffalo, harvest and grind up stalk for cattle feed, ride a buffalo in the paddy fields and even visit a local elementary school!
