In 2003, Baron Benjamin de Rothschild acquired both Château des Laurets and Château de Malengin, laying the foundation for a truly extraordinary legacy. However, it is the intriguing twist introduced by Eve de Rothschild, one of Benjamin and Ariane de Rothschild's daughters, that adds a captivating dimension to the tale.
Eve de Rothschild embarked on a visionary mission to breathe new life into Château de Malengin, while honoring the cherished values of the Rothschild family: audacity, excellence, and heritage. She created a cuvée bearing her own name, capturing the very essence of these values.
Ariane and Eve de Rothschild enlisted the talents of two gifted contemporary artists for a unique project that beautifully intertwines art and winemaking. The cuvée named after Eve undergoes a distinctive aging process in amphorae, whose graceful contours create a mesmerizing vortex effect, gently stirring the delicate lees and enhancing the wine's velvety texture. The brilliant Florian and Michael Quistrebert were inspired by the allure of the amphora and ingeniously translated its magic into an artistic creation known as "VORTEX." This masterpiece showcases two swirling light sculptures resembling amphorae 🏺, creating a captivating interplay of geometric glass shards, revealing the breathtaking beauty of the wine cellars while harmoniously blending artistry and functionality. 💫
