The US government is making an assessment of reported leak at a Chinese nuclear power plant. The US swung into action after French firm EDF that partly owns and helps to operate the Chinese nuclear plant, warned of an "imminent radiological threat."
The EDF also accused the Chinese safety authority of raising the acceptable limits for radiation detection outside the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant in Guangdong province in order to avoid having to shut it down, CNN quoted a letter from the French company to the US Department of Energy.
