Retevis have really ventured into different styles of radios in the last year or two. Gone are their plain black radios with the metal plate behind the battery. We now have a choice of styles, colours, IP ratings and functionality. Are the new radios as good as the old though? In my experience, it seems to be a bit of a gamble, with some of the new style radios being great performers and others being a bit of a letdown.

The RT45P is, overall, a nice radio to use with excellent audio clarity and lovely build quality. It’s not without its problems, though.
@CB-RADIO-UK did a range test on these and got much better performance. It really shows that PMR446 is massively dependent on your surroundings, elevation and the type of stone you're asking the signal to penetrate.
