The demand for removal of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council CEM continues to escalate with protesters being held in various parts of Garo hills today.
Amid these, reports are doing rounds that CEM Rakesh Sangma, who has been accused by pressure groups of not following Garo customs, will put down papers on Monday.
If this happens, it will come as a big setback to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma who had recently backed the appointment of Rakesh Sangma as the CEM stating that he has been democratically elected.
