Portugal's best vacation destination may be the beaches of the Algarve. The rocky coastline is home to many cliffs and coves, with some of the best beaches tucked in to many of them.
Praia da Ponta Pequena, or Small Point Beach, is one of those hard to get to beaches tucked into a cliffside and cove. A rope tied to a tree helped me get down to this one, and it was worth the trip when I arrived for some beach exploring.
The tide gave us plenty of beach space, although it's pretty obvious that the only beach area in high tide is the sandy bit as we come down from the cliff trail.
Timed perfectly in the day, I was able to explore the beach cave and listen to the waves crash against the rocks, as I love to do, before jumping in for a dip.
