At the beginning of the year, I upgraded the motor on my little Australian made Advance lathe with a tiny 550watt, or 3/4 horsepower speed adjustable motor, which is sold for sewing machines.


It has worked great so far. It is plenty of power for the little lathe, and I haven't found it to be under powered, even when working at slower speeds.


I originally made this video at the beginning of the year, when it was a lot hotter than it is now. Now the fires have been put out, but we are stuck inside, I've finally gotten around to finish editing it and chucking it online.
