Do you need a popover pan to make popovers? In short, no. But if you want that extra height and fluffy texture, I highly recommend getting a popover pan.
If you don’t have a popover pan and you’re short on time, you can use a muffin tin. A standard 12-cup muffin tin is smaller than a popover pan so the popovers will be smaller.
Muffin tin instructions: Place 1/2 teaspoon melted butter in each cup of a 12-cup muffin tin. Fill each cup half full and bake at 425 F for 15 minutes, then decrease temperature to 350 F and bake for a full 15 minutes longer (until golden brown).
