If you appreciate gore-fests in horror flicks, Lucio Fulci should be a familiar name. He is often hailed as the Italian godfather of gore, and for good reason! This Italian director has also worked in other genres, but horror seems to be where he shines the brightest. Horror films have made him a legend, probably starting with ‘Zombie’ in 1979. His ‘Gates of Hell’ trilogy has been as popular as they have been controversial. Although the stories in the three movies are completely unrelated, they do have a common underlying theme. All of these movies have some kind of a gateway into hell and an area where the residents are endangered by some supernatural threat. Oh yes, they also have one more thing in common – the abundant gore and extremely graphic violence.
This trilogy is not meant for the faint-hearted. From insides being vomited to people being ripped apart, the narrative is full of shocking moments. In this video, we will explore all three movies from close quarters, and now is the time for the squeamish to look away!
