For a smarter and better Lagos as a commercial hub, an efficient transportation system is required. One of the interventions made in this regard is the Lagos light rail project, which started as far back as 2006.
The current administration is ramping up work on the project, with the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, bent on delivering the Blue and Red lines by December.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has promised that the blue and red rail lines would commence operation in the first quarter of 2023.
