MY DEBUT AS A PRODUCER/DIRECTOR thanks to my brilliant friends who volunteered their time and talent. I would also like to give the Lord credit for how quickly and easily this project came together. Everything worked out so smoothly I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. It never did.
Story behind it: Sean Hamilton asked our group to tell him a song that was personally meaningful to us. He then assigned one of the songs to each of us and told us to make an artistic interpretation. I was assigned Mack Wimbush: “It's one of my favorite songs, but I can't listen to it very much because of how deeply it moves me. Even though I'm messed up, broken, and in pieces, He still loves me. And I'm just in awe of that love from Him.”
Thanks to my dancers, Bri Kavanaugh and Hannah Splajt, who collectively have the most beautiful hair in the world. Thanks to Charlie Mulder for running up and down a hill 20 times and for his skills in looking pensive. Thanks to my generous photographers, Kyle Bultman and Dan Empson, for their time and for letting me borrow the most expensive equipment I’ve ever used in my life. Special thanks to Sean Hamilton and Mack Wimbush for inspiration, Jake Lewis for guidance, Becca Berends for encouragement, Kayla McLean for feedback, Sung Woo and Bethany Lee for use of their property and, of course, Sarah Reeves and Kirk Franklin for the beautiful song.
