In this second video gathering first impressions of the Nubatama Bamboo 600 Grit Stone, I continue by sharpening a zero grind kawamuki double beveled paring knife. I had previously done a repair on this knife of it's chipped edge on a coarser Nubatama stone.. This is a carbon steel knife, a white steel knife I had purchased years ago in the Tokyo Tsukiji fish market.
This stone generates a very fine mud. It is similar in style to the 320 Nubatama, but finer. Swarf retention with carbon steels is very similar.
Requires little water after initial quick soaking
A very pleasurable stone - good feedback. Quickly generates an edge. that both slice and push cuts with little effort, yet still has a toothy character to the edge.
No apparent dishing. A nice blend in between the Chocera and Shapton stones of comparable grit.
Another awesome Nubatama Bamboo stone!
