The Uh Ohs were in Bend, Oregon and went to the world’s last Blockbuster Video! It felt like literal time travel! We walk through the classic entry way near the checkout counter to find classic 90’s movies displayed as if they were just released lol. True Lies is back on my list of movies to watch! There’s walls of the same movie displayed throughout. And of course, movies you have never heard of are displayed. This is because Blockbuster doesn’t know or care about your algorithms of data, they offer movies you might not have otherwise thought about checking out. And you know, that’s actually pretty cool.
I personal believe there’s a place in this world for a Blockbuster Video. Now maybe it’s not a standalone store in most places, but couldn’t it be associated with a coffee shop, or bar, or a gamer’s facility for DND? I think there’s a symbiotic business relationship out there for Blockbuster yet. In the meantime, enjoy this living historic treasure that is Blockbuster Video circa 2022! And a side note, Bend, Oregon is gorgeous! It’s beautiful there and worth checking out on its own. But at night, stop by Blockbuster and rent some movies and get some popcorn, and bring them back to the hotel just like old times :)
PS: make sure the hotel you’re at has DVD players ;)
