#Prufrock TBM (tunnel boring machine) is designed to “porpoise,” meaning it launches directly from the surface, mines underground, and re-emerges upon completion. This allows it to begin tunneling within 48 hours of arrival onsite and eliminates the need to excavate expensive pits to launch and retrieve the machine. Prufrock is designed to tunnel at a speed greater than one mile per week, which is six times faster than The Boring Company's previous generation TBM (Godot+). This is still 4-5 times slower than a garden snail...but Prufrock is catching up! The medium-term goal is to exceed 1/10 of human walking speed, which is seven miles per day.
Train/rail switch yard is located within RCR Taylor Logistics Park (Hutto/Taylor, TX.), which transports newly built vehicles from Tesla Gigafactory Texas. Tesla also leases a 35,000 square foot building in Hutto, approximately 25 miles north of #GigaTexas.
Gigafactory Texas is an automotive manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas built by Tesla, Inc. A 2,500 acre facility along the Colorado River that produces Model Y and Cybertruck.
