Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Presto PopLite Hot Air Popper. LINK to Presto PopLite Hot Air Popper: [ Ссылка ] . It comes in red, black and white. It measures 14 inches tall and 10 inches wide and only weighs about 2 pounds. Included is the base, cover and measuring cup which can also be used to melt butter.
You can melt up to 3 tbsp of soft butter in the cup while the popcorn is popping. I have cut up cold butter into small pieces and that melted almost completely. There is no on/off button, you plug in the machine to turn on and pull the plug to turn off.
To use the unit, remove the cover and measuring cup from the base. The unit is not plugged in. Fill the measuring cup with popcorn, don’t over fill it. I’m using some organic popcorn. Try to use fresh popcorn and not something that has been sitting around for ages because it might not pop well. You can experiment with different brands. Pour the popcorn into the chamber. There is a fill line and you shouldn’t fill above it. Never put oil or butter or anything else in the chamber except for the popcorn. Put the cover on the groove, it sits easily. Put the butter melter on the cover with the tab to the back. Even if you are not using this cup to melt butter, it has to sit on the cover while you’re popping. I’ll put 2 tbsps of soft butter in the cup. Place a big bowl underneath the chute. Now we’re ready to pop. Plug in the unit and wait. So the popcorn is finished popping in 2 minutes 40 seconds. You saw there was no flying popcorn everywhere. The chute is designed well and the popcorn went right into the bowl. The butter has melted nicely. There are about 16 unpopped kernels. The popcorn is warm and yummy. At this stage, the popcorn is healthy. Now, it’s less healthy when I add butter but really tasty. You can add salt, different spices, use a mister to spray different oils, go nuts!
The unit will shut off automatically to prevent overheating if the chamber is overfilled or it’s used over and over again without turning it off to cool.
The cover and butter melter can be washed in warm soapy water, not in the dishwasher. The base can be wiped down with a damp cloth.
The unit is about $20 and worth it if you love popcorn. Kids love to see the popcorn popping and flowing out of the chute. It’s also a fun gift for kids or adults.
