The Conservation Fund’s Freshwater Institute is working with ReelData to prove out AI-based technology for monitoring and weighing salmon in land-based farms that does not require taking fish out of water for measurements. This solution eliminates the stress of handling fish and improves overall fish health and welfare. Together we are developing, testing, and validating hardware, software, and datasets used to measure the in-tank biomass of Atlantic Salmon at the Freshwater Institute facility in West Virginia, USA.
