2013 Audi Q5 2.0L Premium Plus
I had a code for turbo underboost, I was chasing and trying to fix for over 12 months. I replaced the DIVERTER VALVE, which didn't fix the problem. I then replaced the clip that sits on the actuator arm, and that didn't solve the problem either, but it did quiet down the rattle on the wastegate. I then kept reading and reading and just recently I stumbled upon some forums and someone had mentioned that the PCV could be causing (Turbo Underboost Code) Due to a bad PCV. I had replaced my original PCV 60,000 km ago. I went back to Audi and they gave me a new PCV for free ($200) worth. Anyways, I came home, replaced the PCV. It took me about 25 minutes to replace and to think Audi wanted $1500... Replacing this part, has now fixed a whole bunch of things that were going on, due to the PCV being bad... CODE P0299 (Turbo Underbost) FIXED* Also Oil Consumption FIXED* I literally had to add 1Q every 2000km. No more black exhaust!
So if you or someone you know has this code, P0299... don't go wasting your money trying to fix this problem changing diverter valves...N75 valves or turbos!!! First see if you are using a lot of oil and see if you have this code to go with it.. Your answer is the PCV!! Replace it and you are good to go again! The PCV causes a vacuum leak, which gives you the Turbo underboost code! cheers
