This weekend we went camping at historic Edenton NC! We visited this quaint little town on the Chowan River / Albemarle sound. This port town is rich in history, playing an instrumental role in the maritime underground railroad during the 1800s, and in the 1700s was home to one of the signers of the US Constitution, Dr. Hugh Williamson.
We camped at Rocky Hock campground, about a 20 minute drive from town. This campground featured a large fishing pond and amenities like a recreation room, beach volley ball, and a 9 hole par 3 golf course!
During our stay we drove up to Elizabeth City and on to the outer banks for a sunset walk on the beaches of Kill Devil Hills, NC.
