After an engine oil change on a 2011 Subaru Legacy 2.5L the oil warning light stayed lit. I found in the manual that this is the oil level light (NOT the oil PRESSURE light) and that it would stay lit until the engine warmed to operating temperature.
After triple checking the oil dipstick I drove the car and after 10 minutes the oil LEVEL light went out. I think this is a dumb design.
DO NOT DRIVE WITH THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ON. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE OIL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT.
