This review of the Nitecore MH25 S 1800 Lumen Flashlight is provided from a Law Enforcement perspective. It covers mounting and usage scenarios for patrol applications.
My background includes being a volunteer for the Carrollton, TX PD since 2014, the Denton Police Academy since 2015, and the US Forest Service since 2020. I have been involved in night, wilderness Search and Rescue since early 2019. I am an ex-bodyguard (Texas Level 4 PPO) and have used lighting systems extensively in patrol and executive protection.
The review covers the UI and discusses my personal criteria for a tactical (free) handheld flashlight. The light is mounted on the left shoulder strap of my ruck to illustrate how it might be mounted and used on a modern duty vest.
Field testing is performed by responding to example calls at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano, TX. These are similar to training scenarios and are executed a bit tongue-in-cheek :) This illustrates usage of the light in a more familiar context with a couple opportunities for some light cop humor.
This flashlight will also be compared to the Fenix TK 20R V2 at the LBJ Grasslands in a subsequent video. I hope you find this information helpful and please share the content if you found it useful. Thank you.
Each segment was shot one-take with an #iphone 12 Pro MAX. Wind varied wildly from almost non-existent to heavy gusts. I switched to an external mic for some of the segments, so sound is unfortunately all over the place :)
