Melasti Beach is located in Ungasan Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency.

This beach is named "Melasti" because this beach is used as a place for Melasti ceremonies / self-purification by local residents which are usually carried out before the Nyepi celebration in Bali.

The geographical conditions of the beach area are almost similar to Pandawa Beach, namely having limestone cliffs, so tourists will be presented with views of limestone hills before reaching the beach.

The tourism potential of Melasti Beach is an attraction so that tourists are interested in visiting the place which has the following potential:

1. Natural Potential
The natural potential found in Melasti Beach is in the form of beaches and the beauty of towering coral rocks and rolling waves with high waves. The panorama of the beach at Melasti Beach has its own uniqueness where the uniqueness is the expanse of white sand that is still natural, the presence of a platform that juts out into the middle of the sea and limestone rock embankments as prevention of tidal abrasion.

2. Cultural Potential
Melasti Beach also has cultural potential that can be used as a tourist attraction. The presence of Pura Segara which is a holy place for the people of Ungasan Village. Pura Segara was previously used as a place of worship for Hindus in Ungasan Village, religious ceremonies are often held at Pura Segara such as the Melasti ceremony, the Pakelem ceremony, the Nganyud Ka Pasih ceremony and the Piodalan ceremony.
Melasti Beach is a sacred area for the people of Ungasan Village, because in the past Melasti Beach was only used for Melasti ceremonies.
3. Artificial Potential
The artificial potential found at Melasti Beach can be seen in terms of access to the beach. Where the cliff division was carried out by the Bendesa who was assisted by the local community as investors in making road access.
This potential can be used as a tourist attraction where the cliff is excavated and used as a circular road access. Not only in road access, the creation of platforms also has the potential as a tourist attraction where only at Melasti Beach is there a platform that juts out into the sea with high sea tides.
