Swiggy, the Bengaluru-based food tech giant, has launched a new premium grocery service called "Handpicked" within its quick commerce platform, Swiggy Instamart. This new vertical focuses on providing organic, farm-fresh, and locally sourced premium groceries, featuring a curated selection of high-quality products such as homemade paneer, freshly baked bread, and global spices.
Previously, Swiggy had introduced a similar service, InsanelyGood, which was merged with Instamart, and an earlier version of Handpicked, which was shut down in May 2023. The relaunched Handpicked emphasizes on-demand delivery within ten minutes and includes over 500 brands like Iyengar’s, Sweet Karam Coffee, and Blue Tokai.
Currently available in Bengaluru, Swiggy plans to expand Handpicked to Delhi and Mumbai, aiming to strengthen its position in the competitive quick commerce market against rivals like Zomato’s Blinkit and Zepto.
