A group of honored Soldiers from Company B, 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) participated a valor awards ceremony on June 8, 2014, at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in Columbus, Ohio, during which the various honorees received the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart and Meritorious Service Medal. The Soldiers received the awards for actions that occurred during combat reconnaissance patrols conducted on the units deployment in 2009 to Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
