Elon Musk believes that no breakthroughs in technology are needed to transition the world to sustainable energy. Tesla's three pillars for doing thins include electric cars such as the Model 3 and Model Y, battery storage system including the Megapack and Powerwall, and solar panels. The first two make heavy use of battery cells such as the 2170 battery and more recently the 4680 battery cell. Tesla has already begun delivering 4680 cell based Model Y vehicles from Giga Texas. However Tesla still needs SIGNIFICANTLY more batteries. Elon Musk is enlisting the help of Panasonic to build GAME CHANGING 4680 battery cells to their specifications, and will also be buying batteries from CATL, LG, and others in order to build as many electric Tesla vehicles and Megapacks as possible, in the shortest amount of time. #Tesla #ElonMusk #panasonic
