Oil is dielectric., It should also be understood without stating that a dielectric is an electric insulator but the shear number of people on YouTube mistakenly putting dielectric grease on electrical connections as corrosion resistance thinking it’s correct, causes me to put a disclaimer on an obvious joke.

If you know, you know - “put oil on door contacts so they look clean and shiny”
