There is a fashion amongst offroad trailer makers to fit wide, flashy, mud-terrain tyres. This simply isn't necessary as the trailer tyres only need to provide braking and lateral traction, and with a single axle trailer both trailer wheels are firmly on the ground. I also think it better than the spare is underslung, and only carry one for most trips. So I was pleased to see Pioneer Campers' new Verve running tough all-terrain tyres on alloy wheels, and I made a short video with their engineering manager.
