2022 was an interesting year. If anyone had told me that I would break my leg and not be able to walk for over 2 months, I would not have believed them. I got to experience Sweden and Ireland for the first time, AFTER breaking my leg. If you are reading this (or even if you're not), I hope that you had a good 2022 and hope that you will have an even better 2023.
A couple nights ago, in a completely feverish state I got inspiration to do a medley of YOASOBI songs. I ad-libbed my way through it, experimented for a bit and came up with something that I liked. The problem was that I did this in the middle of the night and knew I would forget everything I did up to that point. I frantically wrote down everything I did on my phone. That description is the only thing that I had to go off of when I revisited it today.
There are 6 songs that I used in here, of which I was planning to do individual covers for all except Monster. I actually already have a cover up for The Blessing. But the point I'm trying to make here is that I actually didn't know how to play one of these songs in the medley before recording, and still don't really know how to play it.
Songs used, in order of appearance:
1. Tracing a Dream
2. The Blessing
3. Monster
4. Comet
5. Into the Night
6. Blue
I really like the chord progression in Tracing a Dream, so I used the bridge in it as a transition interlude between songs. I think it works really well for that.
I'm honestly not super happy with it, but I wanted to get this recorded and published before the new year, and my arms were starting to hurt. YOASOBI songs mean a lot to me because I can tell that learning how to play their songs on piano have pushed me to better myself, when I previously thought that I plateaued again. I hope that I can continue to feel this sense of accomplishment and improvement in 2023.
