Burning, itching, pain - more than one percent of the world’s population suffers from chronic urticaria (hives) and the number is growing. Unfortunately, this disease still receives too little public attention. The GA²LEN UCARE Network, the Urticaria Network (UNEV) and the German Allergy and Asthma Association (DAAB) have therefore been initiating World Urticaria Day (UDAY) on October 1st of every year, starting in 2014. With celebratory events such as educational seminars, art projects, and interviews taking place around the world, UDAY is the opportunity to raise awareness of urticaria among patients, their families, physicians, policymakers, the press and the rest of the world.
This year, the UCARE 4U – UDAY Taskforce has decided to tape a series of videos, focusing on the topic of urticaria and the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics include the use of urticaria medication during the pandemic, COVID-19 vaccines, and the impact of stress on urticaria.
Post your questions in the comment section below. Our expert physicians will hold a live Q&A on October 1st on this YouTube channel.
