Another potential preservation first, sees an unlikely pairing in the form of LMS Jubilee 45690 'Leander' and Southern Railways light pacific 34067 Tangmere hauling The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express. This would be Tangmere's first public run since returning from overhaul at the back end of 2021. The rare pair are seen cresting the summit at Shap and they are also seen on the the return leg at Crosby Garret and Waitby Common, the conditions on the return over the S&C was very lively as we were right on the edge of Storm Malik which made its presence known which you should be able to hear in the video. The action finishes at Ramsgreave and Wilpshire, where this time it was Tangmere's turn to do all the work after 45690 doing the majority on the outbound earlier.
I hope you enjoy the sight of this unusual double act
