Cemre Shipyard launched the first of the three service operation vessels (SOVs), Havyard 831L SOV series, currently under construction for MHI Vestas and Esvagt at its yard in Turkey.
Once delivered in 2020 and 2021, vessels will service the Borssele III and IV offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, the Triton Knoll wind farm offshore England, and the Moray East wind farm off Scotland.
First SOV will be delivered in the third quarter of 2020 for the Borssele III and IV, to service the wind farm’s 77 MHI Vestas V164 9.5 MW turbines installed some 22 kilometers off the coast of the Zeeland Province.
Second SOV is scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2021 for the Triton Knoll, to work on the wind farm’s with 90 MHI Vestas 9.5 MW turbines some 33 kilometers off the coast of Lincolnshire.
Third SOV will also be delivered in the first quarter of 2021 for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm, to service 100 MHI Vestas 9.5 MW turbines.
All three SOV's are under 15-year charter contracts with MHI Vestas.
Havyard 831L SOV Series is 70.5 meters long and compensated with walk-to-work gangway.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is a joint venture between Vestas Wind Systems A/S 50% and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) 50%.
