"Herod has thrown John the Baptist into prison. Messengers come to him in the prison. They relay to him all that Jesus has been doing.

Specifically, they tell him about a funeral procession where Jesus sees the widow who has lost her son. His heart fills with compassion. He tells the young man to get up! The son rises from the dead and goes back with his mother.

After hearing this, John asks them to go ask Jesus if He's the Messiah, or if they should expect someone else. The messengers arrive where Jesus is sleeping and ask Him what John wants to know."
