Rosie Webb has always had the confidence to perform. She started singing and made her stage debut at the age of 8.
To write her mellow, acoustic-tinged pop songs, she tends to start with the words, then fits them to melodies. Although she is not classically trained, when inspiration strikes she says it is “As easy as making a cup of tea”.
Her influences are mainly a range of strong-minded, powerful female singers, including Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Jasmine Sullivan and Alicia Keys.
The songs on her debut Key Changes release are about trying to make people feel good: “A lot of my music comes from reflection, so the audience can self-reflect whilst listening. If it can help others, that's great”. “Being able to share what I have written”, she says “and turns my ideas and dreams into reality, has been really important to me”.
Working with Key Changes has helped Rosie hugely: “Key Changes has been massively helpful in being able to know where I want to go and what I can do - to not be scared to step into the studio and try and realise my potential.”
Key Changes provides music industry mentoring in hospitals and the community for musicians affected by depression, anxiety, PTSD and other mental health conditions, it's the world's first label dedicated to releasing music from artists with mental health experience.
