Memory completed on a training lane but I add some control into the exercise to develop control and check the dog is answering your direction at a distance. I get it wrong with Zeus and get him right on top of the dummy and he fails not to pick when given the command to leave. This ability to leave is built up and is completed by getting the dog closer and closer to dummy but it must follow your command. Zeus failed and I went on to do closer retrieves to make him learn what I require. But you should build up the control gradually and eventually the dog will pick when or not by your command.
