March 20 1961, Elvis Presley began a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Surrender', his fourth No.1 of the 60's. It also made No.1 in the UK. The song was based on the 1911 Italian song, 'Come Back To Sorrento.'

March 22 1965, Bob Dylan's fifth studio album 'Bringing It All Back Home', was released. The album went to No.6 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart, the first of Dylan's LPs to break into the US top 10, and it also topped the UK charts later that Spring. March 23 1996, Celine Dion has her second No. 1 US hit with 'Because You Loved Me." The Diane Warren song was taken from the film 'Up Close And Personal' starring Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer. On this same day her album 'Falling Into You' went to No.1 on the UK album chart.
March 24 1966, Simon and Garfunkel made their UK singles chart debut with 'Homeward Bound.' A plaque is displayed in the Farnworth railway station in Widnes, England to commemorate where Simon is said to have written the song while stranded overnight waiting for a train.
