When we were in Vienna, Austria, we did a day trip to the quaint town of Melk in the Wachau Valley, to see the stunning Melk Abbey.

Melk Abbey was founded in 1089 AD and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And, we had the opportunity to see for ourselves how magnificent it is. Plus, it sits upon a rocky outcrop… where the surrounding views overlooking Wachau Valley and the Danube River are amazing.

If you are in Austria, we recommend you visit the beautiful Melk Abbey… which can be easily done in a day trip from Vienna.
