Air layering is a method of propagation. Figs layer very easily and no rooting hormone is needed. Remove the bark & cambium layers by girdling the wood. Making a 1 inch cut around the branch is sufficient. Cover with moist soil and you'll see success in 2-3 months. Ambient temperatures need to be at 70-80F for consistent success.
