If you allow users to check for updates from Microsoft update, any user can download and install updates. As an administrator, you don't want users to download unwanted updates and cause problems with your computer.
And you, as an administrator, must disable checking for updates for many reasons, the most important of which is that these updates have not been tested by the administrators, and therefore may affect the stability of the computer. Another reason is that manually downloading and installing updates from Microsoft Update and after upgrading some applications may not work properly and some settings may change. In general, rolling back the operating system again is a big challenge for system administrators. To prevent such things, you can restrict users who check for updates from Microsoft.
Therefore, in most organizations, Group Policy is deployed on client computers to disable online checking for updates from the Microsoft update site.
Disabling checking for updates using Group Policy is necessary. The best way to disable checking for updates on computers is to use Group Policy (GPO). Group Policy can be used to apply security settings to users and computers. And the steps to do this are simple and easy.
