Merapi volcano, situated on the densely populated island of Java, in Indonesia, erupted on Saturday, unleashing clouds of hot ash and a mixture of lava and gas.
The 2,963-metre-high Merapi is one of Indonesia's most active volcanoes. Its last major eruption in 2010 killed more than 300 people.
