Getting the clutch slave cylinder and starter off a 2005 R 1200 GS isn't the easiest thing in the world to do ... but it's not the hardest, either. Removing the rear wheel gives you better sight lines and access; removing the swingarm would improve that even more but is really overkill for the operation.
