Phenomenology is where greek philosophy, western philosophy, Yogcara, Taintai, Zen, No-view, and all others meet, but it so hard that people (including Buddhists) go around saying Buddhism is this and that always missing the point. The Muppets get it right which almost a modern rendition of the Heart Sutra:
Sing with me:
"Phenomena,
de-de-de-de-de
"Phenomena,
do-do-do-do-do
"Phenomena,
de-de-de-de-de - de-de-de- de-de-de- de-de-de-de-de-de-"
it's all around us
phenomena
it's everywhere
phenomena
our senses take it in
constantly, continsiously
it's just a part of being alive
as phenomena arises we try to make sense of it
using langage and asbstrcat thoughts
we think we understand, it but we don't
no we don't
phenomena
it's everywhere
phenomena
our senses take it in
constant, continious
we think we understand it but we dont
every single thought
that you've ever had
is just your brain
trying to make sense
out of chaos
the universe
our senses take it in
it's everywhere
phenomena
our senses take it in
phenomena
constant, continious
we try and make sense of it
even thought it's unkwnable chaos
So if you aways feel you don't understand
what life's about, or what it's got planned
remember that's only the honest way to live
confussed
phenomena
it's everywhere
phenomena
our senses take it in
phenomena
unknoweable, constantly unfolding
don't try to understand it... because you can't
so if you feel lost and can't make sense of phenomena, of life...
That's life...
It's just random...
phenomena
always arising
phenomena...
always changing too
phenomena...
unknowlable, chaotic
don't try to understand life,
just accept it as it is
phenomena
