In this series, I go behind the Photoshop Brush Magic! In this video, I talk about my Colors of the Côte d'Azur color palette collection inspired by my time spent getting to know the south of France these last few years! These color palettes work with my original color-blending impressionist brushes I launched in 2016. I never imagined when I was a teenager in small-town Missouri watching to catch a thief with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly, that I would have the opportunity to know this amazing region known as the cote d’azur so well. Tucked away in the southeast corner of France, it’s a little bit of paradise — with a mediterranean climate that sets the stage for an amazing array of different types of plants, vegetation, and flowers. Pair that with sunny skies and glowing blue seas — it’s no wonder that THIS was the region that enchanted and bewitched artists such as Monet, Renoir, Picasso, Chagall, Matisse, and many more! To create these palettes, I carefully sampled and meticulously created color blends from my own photos of the French Riviera. This color palette collection, which works with my revolutionary color-blending photoshop brushes, allows designers and illustrators of all levels to literally PAINT in the colors of the idyllic cities and villages in the South of France including Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Eze, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Monaco, Cannes, Saint Tropez, and more! I’m really excited with how this collection turned out — you’ve got the orange, yellow, ochres, and pinks that make up the Belle Epoque buildings in the old towns, the magical and mystical blues from the seas, the brown red colors of the famous red cliffs of Esterel near San Raphael, the floral blends from the Nice flower market, the special blends of brown and blue-greens that evoke the vegetation of the gardens in Eze… which includes cactus, succulents, agave and other exotic plants… there’s also a ton of greens, and to finish it off, an amazing selection of beautiful sunset color palettes!
