The political and trade tensions between South Korea and Japan are now affecting the cultural fields.
Last Sunday, organizers of the Aichi Triennale international contemporary art festival in Japan halted an exhibition displaying a statue of a girl representing victims of Japan's World War II-era sexual slavery.
Meanwhile, a former comfort woman for the Japanese imperial army has passed away on Sunday.
The number of remaining survivors is now down to 20.
The funeral will be held privately as requested by victim's family.
