Implicit assumptions are unstated beliefs or conditions that are taken for granted within a statement or argument. They may not be directly expressed, but they are necessary for the statement or argument to make sense or hold true. As such, they usually do "follow" from the given statement, in the sense that they provide a logical underpinning or context for it.
For the implicit assumption to follow the given statement, it often relies on certain societal norms, logical deductions, or commonly held beliefs. However, this doesn't mean that the assumption is always true or indisputable.
Explicit assumptions are directly stated or very clear from the context of the statement. Implicit assumptions, on the other hand, are not directly stated but are necessary to make the statement reasonable or true.
