Tech Tip Tuesday: Zildjian 15" K Series Light VS. Zildjian 16” K Sweet hi-hat pair
.
.
.
As you all know I love comparing new gear to gear that I have played for a long time so this comparison was inevitable.
For starters, the first set of hi-hats are my 15” Zildjian K light hats (1122G top/1303G bottom). The second pair of hi-hats are my new 16” Zildjian K Sweet hats (1262 top /2027g bottom).
Weirdly enough these two hi-hats, although different in size, sound much closer in sound than I would have thought.
The 15” K light hats, as you all know, has a clean and crispy sound that cuts really well and produces a balanced wash when you open them up. Meanwhile, the 16” Zildjian K sweet hats did cut less than the 15”, had some crisp and a balanced wash but the tone was just a little fuller and a little beefier.
In this case the 16” hi-hats did surprise me on how well they delivered a sound so similar to its 15” counterpart. Both are just such great options to have for different situations.
What do you guys think? Which set of hi-hats do you prefer? Leave a comment and let me know!
Enjoy the demo and have a wonderful day! 🥁🤓❤️💪🏻
