Last Sunday I was at Adria Raceway, in Italy, for a track day organized in collaboration with my friends of WRC Team (an Italian club for owners of rally-style cars) meaning there were many Subarus, Lancer Evos, etc. but also various supercars, historic icons and little fun cars.
A very special feature of this track day was to be the first event held with the new, actual track layout (Adria Rally Show was held few months ago but most of the track was 'interrupted' by artificial chicane and slalom). In fact Adria Raceway remained closed many months last year, not just due to the pandemic situation, but mainly for this extension project which brought the overall length of the track from 2.7 km to about 4 km. A part from the very last three corners, everything else has been re-designed.
As you can see from this video, works are still ongoing and there's still something to be completed such as some protection fences, paving the track with a second layer of tarmac, a second building with more garages and a top grandstand over the extended pit lane and finish some inner areas for marshalls, photograpers and service staff. Due for this reason I didn't manage to place myself in the central area of the track, to show you how the new U-turns looks like from the outside. Hope for the next track day in June.
